On October 15, 2016, LLYC took over the Frio Canyon for a weekend of super-charged, God-inspired fun. Round Up was bigger and better than ever. Chug-and-Crush was chug-ier and crush-ier than ever!
Sara Groves, Andy Gullahorn, Daniel Makins, Jill Phillips, and others led worship and teaching at Family Camp this summer with their spouses and kids. Groves also led a songwriting workshop for kids and a show-and-tell Round Up to share the new songs.
In January, Dwight Lacy retired from the H. E. Butt Foundation after an incredible 37-years. More than a hundred friends and colleagues from across central and south Texas came together at the Riverhill Country Club to celebrate his long career. The men wore ties to honor Dwight’s legacy, coworkers shared skits and videos, and friends ordered a special shipment of his favorite ice cream from Cincinnati. Thank you, Dwight, for everything you have done to help the Foundation move toward better financial stewardship!
Everyone has a crazy camp story or a magical moment from Laity Lodge. And there is no joy quite like swapping Canyon stories with others—whether your photo album includes driving in the river to a Foundation Camp, swinging on Goliath at LLYC, quietly taking in the artwork at the Cody Center, square dancing with the family at Laity Lodge Family Camp, or diving to the bottom of Blue Hole. Help us spread the joy by sharing your best photos with us. Send your pictures to echoes@hebfdn.org and you might just be featured in the next issue of Echoes.
